Some souls...

The way they draw water...

Water is precious...

It's not easy as turning the tap on...

They way they work...

The way they sleep...

They way they travel...

The way they live...

The way they sell their products...

Comfy bed for a nap?

Too young for this kind of work?

The woman on the motor cycle made me think of your wife, "smiling face"...

What are those things those boys are carrying in the last pic ???

Leonard, If I am not mistaken, those are hand made whistles (like flutes) made out of bamboo.

Bino,
Wow. Just with these pictures...they are powerful. As I looked and read, instantly the luxeries of my life (down to the "basics" that I have in my own little world) are like treasures to them. How this puts into perspective how I...and we...have so, so much.

May Papa continue to provide for those in need...those here in our own ailing country, but most especially to those in 2nd and 3rd World countries that barely have their basic needs met.

Blessings,
~Amy :)

Years ago when me and my brother were trying to build up a scrap metal business, well I was the jack of all trades, including the truck driver, and we had a semi trailer parked across the street in a vacant lot to haul loads of scrap down state to the mills or other scrap yards. Anyway one day we rented a tractor to pull the trailer down state because we accumulated a load of something for a mill, so I hooked up to the trailer and rolled up the landing gear then proceeded to do a walk around the unit before I pulled out, and to my surprise I found a homeless man sleeping under the trailer directly in front of the tires, if I hadn't done a walk around inspection I would have crushed the guy as I pulled out because even the empty trailer weighs several tons. true story, anyway the pic of those homeless sleeping under the truck reminded me of it.

Beautiful and also heartbreaking images.

One can only hope that this hard life will make it easier for them to hear the Good News.

That would be my hope for these folks, anyway, and an improved lifestyle someday.

Thanks very much!

Bino,

I saw this the other day but didn't have time to comment. These are truly incredible pics! Very humbling.

The pic of the family of six on the bicycle --- I thought to myself, "that would be fun --- one time." :) I don't think I'd like to live like that. But this is how the people in these pics live their daily lives.

I was just in the kitchen, trying to rinse out a mug that had a lot of hard-to-rinse hot chocolate scum in it. It was taking too long for the water to get hot (like 6 seconds) and I was getting irritated with it! But the people in these pics live so differently every single day.

Not to feel guilty for the convenient things we have, but oh how we have a skewed view of what life really is like for the majority of people in the world. Makes me more and more sure of what true prosperity is, and it's not based at all upon our living conditions.

Joel - Yes, they are very humbling! The picture of the mom and two kids sleeping under the truck broke my heart.
There are probably millions of people like this, my heart goes out for them. I wish I could do something!

Wonderful pictures that truly describe the difference of poor and rich. But nevertheless only in God's eyes and comfort we are equal.
