Millions and billions

In the letters, Grassley asks for everything from Hinn's hotel bills and food costs to an explanation of why Copeland's Eagle Mountain International Church, with assets of $20 million, needed to borrow about $1 million from Copeland's wife, Gloria.

While Hinn's financial headquarters is in Grapevine, his parsonage is at 35 Ritz Cove in Dana Point, Calif. It is valued at $2.3 million, according to Orange County treasurer-tax collector records.

Copeland's parsonage, identified in Grassley's letter as being located at 6000 Indian Creek Road in unincorporated Tarrant County, is valued at $4.1 million, according to Tarrant Appraisal District records.

Copeland's use of aircraft, including a Cessna Citation X jet, is also at issue. The current price for the jet, the fastest nonmilitary aircraft made, is $20.16 million, said a spokesman for Cessna, based in Wichita, Kan.

What I am wondering is this:

Where is Jesus of the Bible in the middle of all these millions and billions who said:
"Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."?

Well hold on a minute. I'm hoping that someday I'll have a huge ministry and I can call upon these guys to sow a certain percentage of their income to my ministry, just as they've been asking others to do for their ministries all these years. See, the more they give to my ministry, the more they'll prosper in return, and everyone will be blessed beyond imagination! Isn't that how it's supposed to work? ;)

What irritates me about the majority of people I see on T.V. is that they say victory in the Christian life comes from religious duties. I was just listening to them this morning. It was the usual "Spend time with God" sermon. Which is awesome. I love spending time with my Father. But if it's out of charging my "spiritual battery", then no thanks.

Maybe I'm just lazy, but I can't keep that kinda stuff up. I'm very unorganized and just kinda blowing in the wind. lol

Well it doesn't do much good to preach a "prosperity gospel" unless you exhibit prosperity. :)

This stuff makes me so mad. Every time I see it I ask God why He allows this to continue, why He allows them to do this stuff in His name? He hasn't answered me yet, but then, He doesn't have to. Then I change the channel.

LOL!!! Thats one way of looking at it, Gary. hahaha

Yeah...I wonder why He allows His name to be blasphemed and made to look phony as well. I don't think it's a good image for a Christian to walk around in expensive attire and all that jazz. If the prosperity gospel were true...Why are there so many Christians in the world living in poverty and being persecuted?

I believe in Christian prosperity in the sense that I have an inheritance not of this world waiting for me.

Thanks guys for your comments!

Paul writes to Timothy about those who use godliness as a means of financial gain. (1 Timothy 6:5)

Joel and Gary,
Your comments were funny :) I have heard some one say that they built a big home (though they did not have enough money) because they wanted to show off to others that how God blessed them!
